Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
Wow! The Lord is so able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine at and through Hope. As we roll into December, I am grateful for so many things HE has accomplished around us and gave us the grace to be a part of. Some of the highlights of 2019 for me include: Hope owning 10 acres of land, preaching through the Word on Sunday mornings and in Home Groups, being able to help some families in financial need, supporting amazing missionaries around the world, starting schools and feeding hungry kids in the Philippines, Congo, Kenya, Ethiopia, and even a family support center in the Flowing Wells District. We hired a full-time worship pastor – Matt Poling, started a new Gospel-driven children’s curriculum with Susan Woodford and Kori Ball. Our ladies had an amazing camp, conference, and service opportunities through Suzi King who came on staff this year. We also had our first ever men’s camp and an amazing leaders’ training. And there is much more to thank the Lord for – all praise and glory to Christ Jesus!
I also want to thank the guys that served as elders, giving prayer support and Biblical guidance to our church in 2019. Below is a list of the guys who served in this role and the guys that we are presenting to serve as elders in 2020. We will have an affirmation vote on December 29th for approving these guys to serve. Special thanks to Bob King, who is completing his ninth year serving as an elder. He will be rotating off to serve at Hope in other ways this year.

Greetings Women of Hope,
What a joy it has been fellowshipping and learning with so many of you this fall. Our time together at camp and the Apologetics conference filled me with deep gratitude for all of you. It is my sincere hope that you were challenged and strengthened in your walk and your resolve to know and proclaim the truths of Scripture.
On a personal note, while I may not be available for Sunday worship with all of you for a bit, please know how deeply you have encouraged me during this challenging season. I am committed to providing opportunities for fellowship, outreach and Bible studies in my absence and look forward to reuniting with all of you in the new year. Warmest blessings, Suzi
thank you to all the women who joined us for this powerful conference in november. a special thank you to alisa childers who came and shared her vast knowledge on how the culture is affecting our churches (progressive movement). thank you to all the women who made this conference a huge success – worship leaders, table leaders, decorators and to new life christian fellowship for their warm hospitality!
in summary, the conference was outstanding and god-honoring. it started with two beautiful sisters (both inside and out) who led us in worship and into the presence of our amazing god. thank you kristin and stephanie.
alisa childers is a passionate and knowledgeable teacher who loves jesus and wants his truth to go forth. i left sobered, challenged and committed to pray for this sister in christ. god has called her to battle on the front lines.
lastly, i left grateful—for hope, for our women’s ministry team and their commitment to provide growth opportunities, and for each of my sweet sisters in christ. we are fellow sojourners. may we be faithful to spur one another on toward love and good deeds, faithful to pray, and most importantly, faithful to know the word and live it. ~Jeri Odell
i feel so blessed to have gone to the recent women’s apologetics conference featuring alisa childers.
She is a gifted speaker, and so relatable. i was actually surprised at the lack of awareness i had about the culture of our society quickly spilling over into the church, yet it all sounded so familiar.
alisa childers told us we need to be bible scholars, and apologists ourselves, in order to teach our children, our grandchildren, and just have an answer for anyone who asks. I found myself leaving the conference with a hunger to study the word of god. i’ve been underlining, writing notes, listing the verses that shock or confuse me, so i can study them more. i’m so glad i went to the conference and hope that we will have more like this in the future. i am encouraged to keep my bible open! ~Marie Lowery
the women’s apologetics conference was a true blessing. thank you kristin braeutigam and stephanie adler for leading us in beautiful worship. thank you alisa childers for your strong teachings: equipping us to defend our faith against progressive christianity and the lies being taught in today’s culture. thank you women’s ministry team (suzi, julie, natasha and gina) for preparing such a lovely place and delicious lunch for us to enjoy together. What an awesome way to grow closer to god and the women of hope! ~Tammi Moore

The Word of the Lord: Seeing Jesus in the Prophets
Prophets in the Old Testament were men who spoke for God. Over 100 times in the historical and prophetical books of the Old Testament we read that, “the word of the Lord came” to a prophet. This ten-session study dives into the challenging prophetical books of Isaiah through Malachi with the aim of understanding not only what God had to say to his people through these prophets in their own day, but also what he has to say to his people today. Readers discover that we struggle with the same sins, we’re subject to the same judgment, and we await the same Savior.

Ruth – Loss, Love & Legacy
This study delves into the virtuous character of Ruth, her unique relationship with her mother-in-law Naomi, and her blossoming love with Boaz. If you’ve ever felt devastated, struggled as a stranger, longed to be loved, or wept along the way, you’ll find a loyal sister in Ruth!

2 weeks ago, we had lunch with a pastor from India. This is a man who came to know Christ early in life and set out to share his faith with others in India. He shared about Jesus with others and they started churches. Those churches have started churches. Now they have a network of over 1,000 churches in India all because this one man was changed by the gospel and shared his faith with others. This multiplication is amazing!
Imagine what God might do with us if we were more focused on making disciples. We don’t have to go to India, in fact, I believe that God wants to use us right where we are!
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20) Go Get ‘em! Pastor Dave

The Gospel Project Resources
If you’re looking into buying new books for your kids this Christmas, here are a few you could look into. The same publisher as The Gospel Project has Bible stories for toddlers, young kids, and older elementary kids.
One by one…
Hey, Hopers! Have you considered the possibilities? Hope AWANA exists to make disciples – but not just of Hope kids, but of ANY kids! Do you have neighborhood children or children in your family for whom you pray? Do you long for them to know Jesus? We want you to consider bringing them to AWANA; let us minister to them the words of Life. Perhaps they will be the seed of the Gospel in their family’s life. Perhaps AWANA can be one of the answers to your prayers.
Please invite them – bring them, provide a way for them to come on most Wednesdays. We will love on them and their parents. We will introduce God’s word into their lives. We will partner with you as you seek to make disciples who make disciples.
We meet most Wednesdays at Summit Ridge Community Church – 505 W. Hardy – 5:45-7:45 pm. For more info please call Tim or Marilyn Tolson at 575-1307.

As we enter into a season of celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, it is also a time to pause and consider those with special needs. As joyous as this time can be for all of us, it can also be challenging and overwhelming to some. Christ came for all people, and this season brings unique opportunities to live out the love of Christ as we consider those with special needs. Here is a wonderful article with a few ideas of how to support families, children, and adults who live with special needs:
