Hi Hope, beginning Sunday, June 7 (9:00 a.m.), we will be having in-person church services. Yeah! I’m so excited to see you all again.
This Covid-19 time has produced in many of us that hunger for fellowship, corporate worship/teaching, and just the opportunity to see one another and encourage one another that the Bible calls us to have in the church. We also hope to balance protecting the health of all our congregation with the importance of gathering. With this in mind, many of you will (and should) choose to remain home and continue streaming online services and connecting with your home group on Zoom instead of in person. Others of you feel very comfortable to meet now. We will have grace for one another throughout this process. As Ephesians teaches us: “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:2-3)
How we are starting:
- On Sunday, June 7, we will start with one service (9:00 a.m.).
- May 31 will be an online Sunday service only. Please meet together as home groups as you are able. Consider watching church together in your home groups (or with friends) if you would like.
- For the first few weeks, we will be having a family service. No HopeKids classes or Middle School classes will be available yet. We will attempt to make the service “kid-friendly” and we will give the kids a packet of activities as they enter.
- This entire service will be videoed and posted online by 12:00 noon Sunday for those watching from home.
- There will be no donuts for the first couple weeks. Coffee will be served by our hospitality team.
- Our lobby will be just for passing through. Please no gathering in the lobby.
- Greeters will be greeting without handshakes or hugs.
- Our rows will be separated for good social distancing. Please keep three chairs between families as well.
- Doors will be propped open.
- We will not be passing out bulletins, handouts or offering baskets.
- We will disinfect doors and surfaces when finished. (Contact Gina at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to be a part of the disinfect team to help clean chairs, doors, and bathrooms following the service.)
How you can help:
- Masks can be worn (not required). If you feel more comfortable at church wearing a mask, bring one from home or we will have some for you.
- Respect the health concerns of others. For a few weeks we are asking people to avoid handshakes and hugs.
- Stay at home if you are sick or caring for someone who is sick or has a higher risk of medical complications.
- Wash your hands often.
So, this is our plan for getting started. We will add the second service when our numbers rise to require it. It is our plan to phase in HopeKids when it is safe to do so. In addition, the youth ministry is planning some safer events outside of Sunday morning that should be a blessing to your middle school and high school students, including a summer camp in Payson, AZ, June 22-25. For parents that are comfortable with this, the camp has some guidelines to practice social distancing. It will certainly be different but will give our students an awesome opportunity to be encouraged in their faith and encourage others.
Let us know if you have any questions or needs. Contact us at email@example.com or (520) 400-1483.
Love you all!
~ Pastor Randy
Hope has been busy blessing our front line healthcare workers and our first responders! Over the past month, combined with a few other community groups, we have written over 1200 thank you notes! We’ve also made and delivered over 50 headbands and provided snacks for over 500 people!! All of the organizations have been so blessed. Below are some photos of those working on thank you notes and those receiving the goodies! Really proud of the way Hope Community Church, along with a few folks from
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Grammar School, Faith Christian Academy, UofA Athletics, and Orange Grove Middle School worked together to make this possible!! It really was a community effort and I know it was a blessing to those who received them. The organizations who received donations were TMC, Northwest Hospital, Oro Valley Hospital, Oro Valley Police Department and Golder Ranch Fire Department. We aren’t finished yet and will still welcome any donations. Thank you again for the touching response! ~Teri Rohne
I pray that we would be disciples who make disciples who make disciples who…you get the point. I’m convinced more and more that we need to grow as disciples. We need to grow as followers and learners of Jesus. Are we growing in our walk with God? How are you being intentional to know God more, not just know more about God, but to really know Him personally. As we experience God’s love for us more and more in a deep, personal relationship, making disciples will flow out of that. The love of Christ will compel us to make disciples. We need to abide in Christ, remain in a close relationship with Him, stay tight with Him.
Go get ‘em! Pastor Dave

We Can’t Wait Until We See You Again!
Hey kids! Hope you have been enjoying all the time with your families, I sure have! I miss seeing all you guys on Sundays and Wednesdays. Keep watching the videos on Fridays to keep up with the Bible lessons. Can’t wait to see you this summer when we get back together.
Blessings, John Turner
To our awesome hopekids: We are so looking forward to being with you again soon. You are a joy and a delight to us. We miss your dear faces. The Bible promises that all things work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. We cannot wait to hear your stories of how God has worked this in your lives during our time of much change and uncertainty. Our prayer for you is that God gives you strength as you trust and love Him in your opportunity to grow in His likeness. Until we can be together again, all our love to you!
Hi Hope Kids! Ms. Kyria here. I pray you are having lots of wonderful adventures with your families and that you are continuing to learn about God (and learning to trust in Him even when life is confusing and scary). I’ve been thinking a lot about Proverbs 3:5-6, which says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will keep your paths straight.” Jesus loves you and He’s taking care of you! I miss seeing all your smiling faces soooooo much and I can’t wait to see you in person and hug you again. Until next time, sweet friends!
Here are some ways to help your kids engage in service if you join us on Sunday, June 7.
RELAX! It’s OK to let kids be kids at Hope.
SIT CLOSE! Consider sitting toward the front where it’s easier for kids to see what’s going on in the service.
EXPLAIN! Quietly explain the different parts of the service to your kids so they can understand what’s going on.
JOIN IN! Kids learn by copying what they see. So if you sing, respond, pray, and engage in the service, your kids will too.
NEED TO STEP OUT? Sometimes kids just need a break. Feel free to step out if you need to, but please come back!

First, I would like to congratulate the 2020 Senior Class. We are proud of you for graduating. Praying that all seniors were encouraged by their unique graduation ceremonies. We love you and we pray that you will all walk faithfully with the Lord as you enter the next chapter of your life.
HopeYouth plans to open up in June. So exciting! We also understand that things may change week by week and that not all students are ready to return. We always offer our videos online to keep students encouraged if they aren’t able to return in person. Also, Summer Camp will happen. Praise God! I am hosting a few zoom meetings to answer questions. The invite is listed below.
Love serving with each of you!
