As you probably already know, Hope Community church purchased just under 10-acres on the northeast corner of La Cholla and Limewood (one block north of Tangerine). That land was purchased with cash. I know many of you have been wondering about the progress with the property, so I wanted to try to keep you all up to speed.
We have met with some land developers and architects who donated their time and encouraged our staff to write up what we think we need (such as number of HopeKids classrooms, classroom sizes, layout, sanctuary, office space, lobby, youth facility, kitchen, meeting rooms, etc.) To help imagine this, we have toured numerous churches and had the opportunity to sit with these church’s pastors and staff as they shared the things they liked and the things they wished they had done differently. It has been a huge blessing. In addition, so many of you have offered your assistance and skill sets and that has been a huge help. We have already had so many people help (from Hope or within the Christian community).
So, next we will be putting together some concepts of what we hope to build and share them with the church – along with the cost of such a project. Since the beginning, HOPE has strived to OFFER HOPE, GROW IN COMMUNITY, and BE THE CHURCH. Therefore, (1) our effort then will be first to build something that facilitates the offering of the hope found only in the Gospel. Thus, a place that unbelievers would feel comfortable stepping into so that they might hear about Jesus. It also needs to be a place where we can continue to train up and send out church planters and missionaries to share that hope. (2) We really believe in spiritual growth taking place as we live life together. Home groups will continue to occur during the week in homes, but we also want to build something that fosters community, fellowship and interaction – maybe something akin to a big courtyard that can handle Jubilees, Mission Fairs, and barbecues. (3) Finally, Scripture calls us to love not just in words and speech, but in actions and in truth. We want to build something that can be a catalyst for loving service in our community and to the ends of the earth.
We hold on to our future plans loosely as we always want the Lord to direct our steps in all things. In the meantime, we continue to make the most of every opportunity at Wilson. It is a joy to serve Jesus with all of you.

A huge thank you to all the women who came out for our September 21 Outreach. We so appreciate your help in creating items for us to sell to profit one of our missions at Hope. A special thanks to Angela Brainard who opened her home and prepared all the crafts in advance for us.
Watch for the sale of these items in the lobby in the near future!
Have you ever been discipled by someone? I’m not talking about just going to church or even being in a Home Group or Bible study. Have you been intentionally discipled by another person? We are all disciples (followers/learners) of Christ. I have found it super helpful to have a wise man of God regularly involved in my life, leading me, encouraging me, challenging me and holding me accountable. It’s when I have that relationship that I feel that I grow the most. Do you want to grow in your love and obedience with the Lord? I hope the answer for each one of you is, “YES!”. Then I would recommend being in an intentional discipleship relationship. Start praying and asking God to bring you someone that can disciple you. As God reveals that person to you, pursue that person and ask them to disciple you. It will be a blessing for both of you!
If I can help you at all in this area, please let me know! Go get ‘em! Pastor Dave email@example.com

Our next baptism will be Sunday, October 6. If you are interested in being baptized contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:3-5

Gospel Project Key Passage
If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:29
Gospel Project Status Update
Abraham showed his love for God by being willing to sacrifice his son Isaac. God provided a ram instead. This is how God showed His love for us: He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross so that we could have eternal life through Him.
On Sunday, September 22 our Sunday morning lessons were on the suffering of Job. The children learned that God is good, even in suffering. As an activity to go along with the lesson our preschoolers and kindergartners made activity bags to give to kids who are suffering. Thank you to everyone who contributed! The kids were able to make 27 activity bags as a result of your generosity!

Also, we are in the process of scheduling a Worship Night and a HopeYouth Hangout, so please look for emails for details.
It is my heart that everything we do in HopeYouth will guide students to Jesus. I know there can be a million excuses to avoid or not participate in student ministry, but I encourage all students and parents to not give up meeting together. There is nothing better than being connected with your Church community. I always invite parents to reach out if you have any questions about HopeYouth. Love serving with each of you!
