Isaiah So Far…

It has always been such a blessing for me to study chapters of the Bible during the week in order to preach and then read them together with you all every Sunday.  By the time we finish the book, I always feel like I know that specific book and its message so much greater than I did before.
As we move into April, we have read up to Isaiah 11.  I had always heard that Isaiah is nicknamed “the 5th Gospel”.  That is a crazy nickname because the four gospels discuss the good news of Jesus Christ (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), and Isaiah was written 700 years before Jesus Christ was even born.
Nevertheless, Isaiah is rich with prophecy that points to the coming Messiah (Greek word for Messiah is “Christ”).  For example, take a look at these passages we have covered so far from Isaiah [listed on the left], and how they are fulfilled in the New Testament [on the right].  This might be a blessing to do together in your home-groups or in your personal devotional time.

Thanks to all the women who came out for our March Brunch and Intro into Gardening. We had a wonderful time of food, fellowship and planting!

We had a great time partnering with Young Life for Kickin' It For Campership.  Thanks for coming out and supporting this important ministry!

The Compassion ministry at Hope is in the process of updating our list of those willing to serve, mostly by bringing meals to families who are in need of our help during times of illness, new baby, etc. If you have already joined the list, please let us know if you would like to remain on it, and if you would like to serve in this way, we would love to add you to the list! Come by Hope Central to sign up or contact Denise Edmiston at medmiston22@comcast.net or Claudia Zimmer at zimmer1501@comcast.net.

Blessing the Teachers and Staff at Wilson
A special thank you to Principal Christine Sullivan, who we have partnered with the last 7 years at Wilson.  She is retiring in June.

YoungLives

YoungLives is a specialty ministry of Young Life. YoungLives reaches pregnant and parenting teens through mentorship, community and opportunities to go to camp in both summer and winter. Our mission is to introduce teen moms to Jesus and help them grow in their faith.

There will be a table in the lobby on Sunday, April 28 to help moms/children go to camp.  Raffle tickets will be sold to help fundraise for the camps.
Tickets will cost $20.00 each and prizes include two AZ Cardinals Tickets for two games, PSE Bow & Archery Load Out, multiple gift cards to various places (Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc.) for $200.00 or more. All proceeds from the raffle go directly to YoungLives camp funds.

We are excited that we finished our study through the Bible in March! It took us about 5 years.  Our curriculum, the Gospel Project, is a 3-year program through the Bible and teaches that it all points to Jesus. Due to family Sundays and covid, it took longer…but we did it! This month we will start over and begin in Genesis with updated lessons.

Plans for this year’s VBS, The Great Jungle Journey are well underway! It will be held May 27-31 at Hope Overton for ages 4 (by July 31) through students finishing 5th grade.
If you are interested in volunteering, you can email me. We will have a flyer available with ways that you can help to order and donate supplies on April 14th.

Registration will open to register our own HopeKids the week of April 15th.  At this time, we have to limit registration to our own HopeKids due to available space. You will be able to register with a link on the Hope App or by a link that will be emailed out.

There will be a Training Lunch for VBS volunteers on April 28th after church at Hope on Overton.

We hope to see you at Nerf Night!

Have a great month!  ~Lynne
