Celebrating Wins…

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” (John 15:16)
Back in 2011, when our church was just a couple months old, the elders bought me a nautical compass with a brass plate on the top.  Engraved on that brass plate was this verse, John 15:16.  It has always been a favorite verse for me.  What an incredible thought!  That God would choose us and appoint us to bear eternal fruit for Him.  I am regularly amazed that God uses ordinary people like us for accomplishing wins for His Kingdom.
Every once in a while, it is an encouragement for us to celebrate those wins.  When I say “wins”, I’m describing those things that God does at Hope that have eternal consequences.  Let’s celebrate that God sent a big team of workers to Northern British Columbia to help run a camp for native youth from the area.  We have already received stories of incredible conversations, young people receiving the Gospel, and our team serving Jesus faithfully in a variety of ways.  We have a team currently in Honduras and a team training to go to the Philippines in October.
Ten of our youth ministry members just returned from a week in Miami where they helped an inner city church minister to 150 children in the neighborhood throughout the week.  Also, among our young people, we had an incredible VBS.  83 kids and a team of adult staff strengthened each other in the Wonders of God’s amazing grace.
We have had several baptisms this year where folks have been affirmed by the church family in their faith.  We just finished the 66 chapters of the book of Isaiah – like the early church that devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching (Acts 2:42).  Our monthly mini-conferences have been well attended and have covered topics such as: strengthening marriages, understanding one’s worldview, and learning Jewish customs such as the Seder meal and the Passover to help us understand the Word more fully.  We have seen the church family participate deeply in praying for one another and encouraging one another.  Finally, this month we are adding two new home groups to our church to build relationship, read the Word, and serve together.
This life can be discouraging, but it is a joy to remember that God is still mightily at work, accomplishing more than we could ask or imagine.

~Pastor Randy

Abide: A Study of 1, 2, & 3 John
Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. 1 John 2:24
How can we hold onto assurance of our faith? How can we discern the truth from a lie? How can we know God loves us?
In these three short letters, the apostle John reminds an early church facing division, deception, and doubt to hold fast to what they know and to live like they believe it. And he reminds us, as well.
In this 10-session Bible study on the letters of 1, 2, & 3 John,  Jen Wilkin helps you see how two thousand years later, his words call to Christians in similar challenges to recall a great salvation and to abide in the truth.

Monday Night Women’s Precept Bible Study on the book of 1 Peter will be starting on Monday, September 8, in the Hope Community Room. This book was written as the church was being scattered, suffering, and facing persecution. Join us as we dig into this book and learn how Peter explores these questions of “What does it mean to suffer?” “Where is God when we go through hard times?” “How do I maintain my faith when I’m hurting?” “How can I endure this pain?” Workbooks ($22) need to be ordered by August 12, so please reach out to Valerie Turner at 520-904-5318 or vturner@airconceptsinc.com for more information.

Our First Annual Mother/Daughter Weekend in July!

Night of Worship - led by Katie Arellano
Friday, September 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

August's mini-conference is a great follow up to Eric Loveland's teaching from July about leading people to Jesus, but this conference will be encouraging even if you weren't able to make it in July.

What if we were missing a key part of following Jesus? What if there was a way to supercharge our growth in spiritual maturity, the fruit of the Spirit and Christ-likeness?  In August's mini-conference we will lay a foundation for a passionate vision for walking alongside others as we all follow Jesus and we will investigate some practical helps to get us going on the right track and keep us serving for the long haul. Let's Grow!!

The women will be at Women’s Camp on August 24th. There won’t be any HopeKids program that day so that our women can attend camp. We will have a family outreach project in the service that Sunday.
Have a great month!

Our Key Passage This Month:
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding. (Ephesians 1:7-8)

Big Picture Question:
What is grace? Grace is when God gives us something good even when we do not deserve it.

Wednesday Youth Lunch & Study!

2025 Hope Rock Nest Ranch Team thanks you for joining us in serving First Nations youth in Houston BC, Canada. Together we have served 115 campers with lots of fun, great food and Gospel messages in chapel each day. Our team has worked alongside our host missionary team as well as others from Canada and the USA. We have been challenged in many ways, but have seen God working in and through us all to achieve His purposes. Campers have been able to hear clearly that Jesus loves them and has died both for our sins and for our sorrows and has a beautiful plan for us all. It has been a joy to endure some hardships for His glory. Looking forward to sharing stories of His faithfulness and of growth along the way.

With Gratitude, Your RNR team (Camp Names) Judge, Cookie, Latte, Dusty, Sandy, Hazel, Sparrow, Zucchini, Snake, Goose, Barbossa, Monsoon, Phoenix, Fuse and Washers.
