Building Project
“Pastor Randy, I gave a lot of money for the church building!” The young girl said as her mom looked at me with embarrassment. “We are still working on learning to give without bragging!” her mom said with a smile in the Wilson lobby.
But before she could explain this fully to her daughter, her daughter exclaimed with excitement and full volume: “I gave like almost $250!”
Oh, I loved it. It reminded me of so many things our kids shouted out when they were younger. It also reminded me that after we announced to Northwest Bible Church that we were going to plant a new church, three kids from the same family walked up and gave us three envelopes with normal kid handwriting: “For new church from sale of my steer” and “Tithe from selling my pig for the new church” and “For the New Church”. Julie still has the envelopes, and they are so very dear to us. They became the first offerings to start Hope Community Church.
It was such a blessing to me that the Lord worked on this young girl’s heart to give sacrificially towards a new church building on Overton someday. That offering in October was made up of several gifts that came from that same heart. What an encouragement!
I have chosen not to know over the years what families give financially to Hope. We have a finance committee that keep those records and track giving for tax purposes, but I have chosen as a pastor, to not know names of normal weekly gifts (unless they are totally out of the norm). I also chose to not know the names of those who gave for our special offering of $281,000 on October 29th. But I did ask for the breakdowns and what I found is that there was a 25k, a 20k, and a few 10k’s. The rest of the gift was made up of smaller but very generous gifts. It is so encouraging that so many families gave financially across the entire church. We are in this together and most importantly, God gets all the glory when someday soon we see a new worship center and HopeKids classrooms get built on Overton.
Praise the Lord, God has allowed Hope this year to be on track with the budget. We have been able to pay the bills, salaries, invest in church planting, and missions around the world. In addition, we have raised about 1.6 million for the church building. We have set a goal of 2.5 million in order to begin construction. This means we need about $900,000. We are asking the Lord to provide more than we could ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
As the year ends, if you would like to donate to the church building specifically note that on your check or choose that option on the drop-down menu if giving online. Contact Jim Luckow (jimluckow@mac.com) or Chuck Martin (cmartiniv@yahoo.com) if you have any questions about the building plans or the financial position. It is a joy to serve Jesus with you all. Let us remain faithful until He returns or takes us home.
~Pastor Randy

Sometimes the Bible's story is summarized as creation, fall, redemption, restoration. But the future is not headed toward merely a restoration of Eden's goodness. From the very beginning, the Bible's story has always been headed toward consummation, toward glory. This study traces nine themes that run from Genesis through Revelation in the Bible. Each reveals how God's plan for the new creation will be far more glorious than the original.

Thanks to all the Women who came out and joined us for our November Night of Worship and a big thank you to Katie Arellano & Breanna Loveland who led our time of Worship!

Guys, have you ever felt like there must be more to the Christian life than just going through the motions of “trying to be better”? This Conference will be a challenge to understand what Jesus meant by “taking up our cross and following Him”, as a true Christ-Follower. Jesus would never ask us to be someone, or do something that we couldn’t attain in His power and strength!! Let’s explore what it means to be “Soul-ed Out For Jesus”, and start living the victorious and satisfying life we were created to live and be!
Thanks to the Marriage Matters Team and all the couples who came out to attend the Marriage Workshop!

Hello Hope Families!
It was great to see so many of you at our Family Fall Fest! We are so thankful for everyone who volunteered to make our event such a fun success. We even had a few families visit from the neighborhood.
This month, our preschool through 5th grade HopeKids will be singing in church on December 17. We are so thankful that Karen Tvrdy orchestrated the songs and motions, and has been teaching the kids on Sundays. We have enjoyed watching the kids practice. It is going to be a special performance! You can check your email for more information, so that the children can be practicing at home too.
Coming in January! We have decided to move our Kindergarteners up on January 7th to switch back to a K/1st classroom.
We hope you have a special Christmas season as we celebrate the greatest gift – Jesus!
