Head, Heart, and Hands
This month we are celebrating our 12th year as a church, and by God’s mercy and kindness, HE continues to use us for His Kingdom and to encourage each other. He has so blessed Hope Community Church! Make sure to join us on Sunday, February 5 at our 10 a.m. Sunday celebration service and then immediately after service at Riverfront Park for fellowship and Sonoran Hot Dogs!
While we kick off this year in Romans, we are also trying to focus in on this verse from Colossians 1:28: “He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.” The apostle Paul is sharing with us how hard his team worked to share the gospel and the Word of God so that everyone could be established in faith and that everyone also would grow in maturity. This is our desire for our home groups this year – ALL TO MATURITY!
So we are introducing a set of four workbooks into our home groups starting this month that focus on (1) Foundational Christian Doctrine, (2) Relationship with God, (3) Relationships with other Christians, and (4) Relationships with the Lost. It should be a great time of growth and a great opportunity to help each other grow in maturity.
While we say maturity, we don’t mean only growing in knowledge. Our hope is to see growth in the HEAD, the HEART, and the HANDS. By head, we are referring to gaining knowledge and teaching from the Word of God. By heart, we desire to see growth in character and devotion to God. By hands, we hope to see more obedience and action in following Christ.
No curriculum is perfect, but I hope that as we grow and encourage our brothers and sisters in growth, we will look back through the year at the end of 2023 thankful for what the Lord has done in our heads, hearts, and hands.

The Art of Marriage weaves together expert teaching, real-life stories, humorous vignettes, and more to portray both the challenges and the beauty of God’s design.

"Peopling" Mini-Conference
Taught by Glen Elliott - Former Missionary in Ukraine and Pastor at Pantano Christian Church in Tucson
Saturday, March 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
We've all said it in exasperation - People! Some people are difficult to deal with. Others we love to hang out with. The Bible is clear that there are different kinds of people and we need to respond to each kind of person in a different way. There is no “one size fits all” way to engage with people. Some people reject the ways of God and are intent on hurting us. There are some people in their self-centeredness who refuse to deal with truth and reality. Then there are the wise who allow God’s wisdom to transform how they live. In this mini-conference we'll learn how to do "peopling" well. We’ll look at three kinds of people described in the Bible and learn about the kind of person we are as well as how to deal with each type of person.
Rock Nest Ranch Camp
Missions Trip this Summer
Rock Nest Ranch is a summer Bible camp for indigenous
youth in British Columbia, Canada.
Hope is in the process of forming a new team to serve at the Camp in July. There will be an informational meeting on Sunday, February 12, following the morning service. A table will also be set up in the lobby at church on Sunday, February 5 & 12 if you have any questions or you can contact Frank (520-349-3438) or Beth Bumb (520-349-6574) if you need more info.

A big thank you to all our volunteers for your hard work. We appreciate you! Also, thanks to all of you who were able to make it to the volunteer appreciation night. We hope you had a great time.
Our current plans are that we will be starting VBS sign ups at the end February and beginning of March. We want you to get excited for this incredible event!

February marks the beginning of all of our home groups starting the "Discovery" Bible Study. I am really excited to see how God will use this time to bring unity to the Body, sharpen our understanding of His Word, and to grow in our devotion and obedience to the Lord. Praying that this will be a great way to grow in maturity.
Home Group Leaders Training
Our vision in Men’s Ministry is to train and build up men in godly masculinity. We desire all men at Hope to be rooted in a Biblical identity and to embrace their role as leaders in the Kingdom.
To help encourage men at Hope, we plan to start a Bible study in February. More information is coming. Our prayer is that this study would allow men to connect with other men and to help them grow spiritually. This study is open to all men at any age.

God is good! Thank you for all your prayers. Winter Camp was sweet, and we are grateful for how God spoke. Now we are moving forward in doing the Discovery Bible Study in HopeYouth. Our goal is to really build-up students in their faith and we believe that this study will help students understand what they believe and how they can reflect this knowledge to the world. It’s finally here!
Tucson Night To Shine 2023 is Friday, February 10. We are so thankful for the volunteers, the prayers, and the support as we prepared for this event. Together, Kristi Hanneman (Journey Church), Stacie Mockbee (Lifepoint Church), and myself, along with a core team of faithful volunteers, have been diligently working on the planning and preparation necessary to make Night To Shine a memorable event for both guests and volunteers. We are so excited to witness how God uses this Night To Shine to demonstrate His love and faithfulness to all those who attend and participate.
