Fight the Good Fight!
“But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
(1 Timothy 6:11–12 )
In this charge from the elder Paul to the young Timothy, God reveals just how active one should be in fighting the good fight of the faith. What does that include? We can tell from this passage it involves a regular battle against our personal sins and putting those things to death. It also includes a pursuit of righteous living, love, and gentleness. The moment we put our trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior is really important. Yet equally important is the continuing battle of persevering and enduring with Jesus. We want to get across the finish line. We desire to abide with Him until He takes us home, and we desire to help each other stay the course with Jesus. The church family and fellowship is vitally important in your fight to make this happen.
Praying together, eating together, reading the Word together, growing in your knowledge, serving beside brothers and sisters – these are all ways we can fight the good fight of faith. This month, there are several opportunities to help you stay the course with Christ and to encourage your brothers/sisters to do the same. Here are just a few that I think will help your faith persevere.
February 4th: Hope’s 13th Birthday Picnic - I know the Sonoran hot dogs, cookies, kettle corn and park will be great. However, one of the greatest things about these opportunities is getting to sit beside other Hopers and hear how they are doing, what is happening in life, and build strong relationships. Please come and encourage others.
February 9th Night to Shine and February 11th Soup-er Bowl: Night to Shine serves the disabled community. The Soup-er Bowl is an opportunity to serve beside brothers and sisters during Sunday service. Every time we serve others, we chip some of our greed and selfishness away.
February 16th: Men’s Barbecue Dinner Night. Get to know other guys with the hope that God can use you to sharpen some and be sharpened by some in your faith. This helps you get across the finish line with Christ.
February 17th: Saturday Mini Conference: This conference will help us live free from “taking up offenses” and not let Satan trap us because of something done against us. Each Saturday conference is designed to bring the Bible into your everyday life.
February 22nd & 23rd - Rodeo Youth Service Project. HopeYouth and parents don’t miss this opportunity to serve!

Church-wide Prayer and Praise – February 28
Our church will meet the last Wednesday of every month for a focused time of worship and prayer from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Community Room. Billy Graham once said, “To get nations back on their feet, we must first get down on our knees.” Please join us as we worship God through song and prayer, as we intercede for the church, for the lost, for missionaries and the persecuted church, for revival and for God’s kingdom to come.
