Our 15th Birthday

On February 1st, we will be celebrating our 15th church birthday.  Here are 15 things that I have been grateful for recently…
1)  In 2025, Hope was able to invest 26% of what was given in offerings towards missionaries and mission projects around the world for the glory of Christ.  In addition, over $500,000 was added to our building project fund during the same period.  Amazing.
2)  Hope is currently financially supporting two church planting efforts.  Pastor Dave Collins at Ambassadors and Eric Loveland in Long Beach, California.  Let’s keep growing the kingdom of God.
3)  AWANA:  How awesome is it that our kids are learning so many verses from the Word every week?
4)  I’m grateful for our pastors (Gary, Kevin, and Christian) who faithfully preach the Word, serve in a thousand different ways every week, and encourage our church body (and me).
5)  The Hobbit House (if you have seen it, you know why we call it that).  God has provided us an important space for immediate office use as we start preparing hopefully to build soon.  It also has potential for future ministry as well (i.e. discipleship house, missionary respite)
6)  Wonderful short-term mission trips last year to Philippines, Miami, Honduras, and Canada.  (Also, the sponsorship of 25 poor and precious Aeta kids by Hopers in the past few weeks.)
7)  Hopers delivering furniture and needed items to Tucson foster families through CarePortal.  This is a powerful ministry.
8)  Memory Verses.  So many of you have been on target memorizing a scripture a week so far in 2026.  Keep it up!
9)  Our incredible staff:  our church administrator Gina, our HopeKids dynamic duo team of Lynne and Kendra, Katie, our worship assistant, Matt, our tech director, Suzi, our women’s director, and Faith Matthews who has been taking care of our facilities.  This is an amazing team.
10)  VBS last year was so fun – can’t wait for 2026!
11)  Home groups - I love that so many of you meet, share meals, encourage one another, and try to grow in the Word.
12)  Youth and Young Adult Ministries.  Fellowship and encouragement are so vital in these days – so is the teaching of the Bible.  I’m so grateful for the relationships I see happening at Hope.
13)  The book of Luke.  I have been so blessed to make our way through this book together, verse by verse.  I think we are learning a lot about our compassionate Savior.
14)  You – yes, I’m talking about you.  It is really fun to serve Jesus with fellow believers like you.
15)  Julie Brainard.  I’m just so grateful for her personally, but I know she is a blessing to Hope as a whole as well.

Here's how you can help with the celebration:
If your last name begins with E, U, V, X, Y, Z - Nacho Cheese (already warm in its warming pot)

Pit Crew is Ministry
Having church services at Wilson every Sunday takes a dedicated team of volunteers to set up and tear down, and we need more volunteers for this ministry!
Setup starts at 7:00 a.m. and teardown begins immediately following service. This team is mainly responsible for unloading the Hope Worship trailer and setting up the chairs and projector screens in the gym.
You can be part of one or both crews, do it once a month, every week, etc.
If you are willing and able, please fill out this simple form below to show your interest in being part of the Hope Pit Crew ministry!

The doctrine of heaven is one of the most misunderstood today, and the doctrine of hell is one of the most often denied or altered today. For those outside the Church, most believe that if there is a heaven that will indeed be their destination. Inside the Church, there are questions, doubts and denials about the reality of “eternal conscious punishment.” We all will die, and there are eternal realities. Join us February 28, to work our way through these important doctrinal truths.

 What We’re Learning:
February 1(Family Sunday): Zephaniah Warned God’s People to Repent; Zephaniah
February 7: We are to Repent of Sin; Matthew 3
February 14: Jonah Warned of God’s Judgement; Jonah
February 21: Nahum Warned of God’s Judgement; Nahum

Our Key Verses This Month:
Acts 3:19: Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.
Psalm 139:13-14:  For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Big Picture Questions:
What is repentance? Repentance is turning away from sin and turning to Jesus.
What makes people special? People are special because we are made in God’s image, as male and female, to know Him.
