Hope's 13th Easter

In October, we had a small team in the Philippines.  On one day, we ran a medical clinic, shared the gospel and testimonies, gave out food, played games with the kids, encouraged pastors, and prayed for the sick in a village up in the jungle.  At the time, I thought what an incredible opportunity we are all experiencing to serve Jesus Christ.  I read Matthew 25 to some of our team that day:
Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ The King will reply, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."            (Matthew 25:37–40)
What a blessing from the Scripture!  We are promised that when we serve the least, we are serving Jesus himself.
One of the three parts to Hope’s mission statement is “to be the CHURCH”.  For that, we desire to care for the orphan and the hungry, to visit the sick and the lonely, to be the church to the orphan and the widow.  And every Easter, we have chosen to honor what Jesus did when He died for us and rose again by serving the least.  In the past, Hope has built a tilapia fish farm in the Philippines, given goats to orphans in Kenya, built new classrooms in impoverished parts of Ethiopia, built a kitchen for a disabled school in the Congo, a library at a homeless shelter in Tucson, and much more.
This year, during the entire month of March, we will be talking about the projects we wish to join together to accomplish in order to serve our Savior.  Then on the last Sunday in March we will give 100% of that offering to the projects.  We have plans to help some brothers and sisters struggling both around the world and locally as well – including some facilities for children and new church plants.  It is a joy to serve Jesus together with all of you.

March 3rd:  $10.00 given to each of our kids (Matthew 25:14-30).
March 31st:  Easter Service – 100% of offering given for missions’ projects.

Super Bowl Sunday Outreach!

Hello Hope Families!
He has risen! We are looking forward to celebrating Easter with our HopeKids!
I recently led the K-3rd grade lesson on Sunday morning and was blown away by the questions that our kids were asking.  “Who made God?” “If Jesus wasn’t born yet, how did He help create the world?” “Do angels sin?” “Why did God allow sin, if He hates sin?” “If a Christian takes their own life, do they still go to heaven?” Our kids are really thinking!! Our lesson that day was from Jude and how he was warning the believers that they needed to be careful not to listen to false teachers. It reminds me how important it is for our kids to know and learn the truths from God’s Word. This year’s VBS will help our kids answer some of their questions!
Every day, our kids are bombarded with questions: Did God really create everything? Why do bad things happen? Was Noah’s ark real? Why do I need to be saved? Can I trust the Bible?

At this VBS, your kids will explore the Biblical answers to these questions as they set off on an epic adventure from Genesis to Revelation. Amid sloths, butterflies, river dolphins, and dart frogs, your children will sail along on a fun jungle cruise, stopping at seven ports of call. These ports are the 7 C’s of History: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation. Kids will discover how these events shape our world, and they will learn to reconnect the Bible to their everyday life. Prepare to swing into fun as we head out on The Great Jungle Journey!

The Great Jungle Journey VBS
May 27th - 31st 9:00 a.m. to Noon

Have a Blessed Easter as we rejoice in our risen Lord!

"Men may spurn our appeals, reject our message, oppose our arguments, despise our persons, but they are helpless against our prayers."  (J. Sidlow Baxter)

"Come as you can, come whether you pray silently or out loud – that our many voices may be united as one." (Acts 4:24)  "O, magnify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together."  (Psalm 34:3)
