Africa
I wish all of you would have had the chance to travel to Kenya recently with our short-term mission's team. Unite 4 Africa is our connection to church planting and community transformation in many different communities of Africa. Our missionaries, Okongo and Shyla Samson guided the team from Hope to visit many areas that Hope has partnered with.
We got to see schools built or expanded by Hope that have been built in areas where the only other option was a school 10 miles away through hills full of the danger of lions and elephants. We got to come alongside these communities who also invested much of their own resources to build the schools with us. We got to be a part of orphans receiving female goats. Each orphan is trained on how to grow their herd, milk their goats, and sell that milk in order to purchase school uniforms and pay school fees. The goats were purchased by you all at Hope, and the kids were trained, put into homes in the community, and checked in on by local pastors. We got to see multiple churches that have been funded through Hope as well. One of them was just opening and we got to be a part of the ribbon cutting ceremony. One of the pastors who I talked to was so amazed that all of you would do this for them while still renting and meeting in a school ourselves. We got to go and deliver “dignity pads” paid for by Hope. We got to encourage these public school girls that God has beautifully designed their bodies for these menstrual cycles and that they do not need to be ashamed and now do not have to miss school. We got to give four motorbikes away to pastors in communities who are ministering in churches many miles from their homes. These pastors all raised their own funds and then Hope paid for the rest of the cost.
I do not share these stories to brag, but my hope is to encourage you that you are empowering and coming alongside brothers and sisters for God’s great kingdom. You are making an eternal difference and are storing up for yourselves treasures in Heaven. Way to go Hope!
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.” Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” (2 Corinthians 9:6–11)

Hope Kenya/Tanzania Mission Trip:
When our team left Tucson, we did not know each other well, and we for sure did not know what to expect. All we knew was God had called a team of 7 Hopers to Africa! But from the time our feet hit the ground in Kenya and every day after, we came to understand more and more that it’s not so much what we know or don’t know, but WHO we know. It’s about WHO God is! Each of us has a story of how God revealed Himself to us in Africa – by seeing the marvelous works of His hands, by being with and hearing the powerful testimonies of God’s faithfulness from our Maasai brothers and sisters, and by being put in situations where each one of us had to rely upon His Spirit – and our lives will never be the same. Thank you Unite 4 Africa! Thank you Hope for your prayers! Praise Jesus! Amen. . . Amen.

On October 17th, our Honduras team sets out for a week-long mission's trip supporting Cocal Gracias based in Puerto Cortes, Honduras. For those that don't know, Cocal Gracias runs a school and trade center that offers six vital disciplines to Honduran men and women to train vocationally and become professionals in society. The team uses that avenue to share the Gospel, build disciples, and demonstrate the power of the kingdom. During the week, our Hope team is expecting to do various construction jobs, participate in community service & outreach, engage with Cocal English students, and provide encouragement to our missionaries Brian and Rina Ruark. Our breakfast fundraiser on September 19th was a great success and helped get us closer to our fundraising goal. A huge THANK YOU to all that have supported the team financially to date! Donations can still be made on the link below.

Come join us as we serve the women at Life Care Center. We will be singing hymns and providing manicures. Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to BE THE CHURCH! Also, this is a great chance for students to earn community service hours. We could use some help with supplies also. Please sign up below!

Thank you to all the women who joined us for our September Hymnology Conference. Also, a big thank you to our speaker Kristin Braeutigam.

I’m not sure what you expected when your kids became adults, but it has been a surprising journey of emotions for Julie and me. How do we each navigate with our adult children things like: contrary worldviews, “prodigals”, allowing mistakes, heartache, no contact, etc.? We are going to take a look at the Bible, share some stories, and get advice from one another to help us navigate this season of life.
Please RSVP by October 28 so we know how many to plan lunch for. Thanks!

It's not too late to sign up!!!

2027 MISSIONS OPPORTUNITY – COME AND LEARN MORE
Missionary children are often called “Third-Culture Kids” (TCK’s) because they often do not fit into their parent’s country of origin nor into the culture where they live and serve. TCK’s have special needs to feel included into their true culture, the Body of Christ.
Ohana Global serves missionary families by going to regional conferences and bringing a unique VBS program that is geared to encourage and build up TCK’s.
One of the founders, Dr. Kirk and Joyce Pagel, will present this ministry opportunity to HCC on Sunday, October 25th after church in the Community Room on Overton. They will be going to the EFCA ReachGlobal Europe conference in Budapest from 7/23 till 8/1/2027. One of HCC’s newest supported missionaries is their daughter and son-in-law, Hannah & Daniel Pavoini who serve in Lisbon, Portugal.
Please come for lunch and learn about this wonderful ministry and opportunity to serve TCK’s and to better understand how HCC might join with Ohana in Budapest.

It was such a blessing to gather together with some of our co-disciplemakers this last week for the Child Discipleship Forum. I loved the thought of all our volunteers and families as co-disciplemakers! We were enlightened, challenged and encouraged with the sole purpose of making our kids/youth disciples of Jesus. The overarching theme was:
1. In a world of loneliness and isolation…we want to show kids they BELONG to God in a way they’ll never forget.
2. In a world of counterfeit gospels…we want to teach kids the whole story of the Bible so they can BELIEVE the true gospel. The whole Bible is one BIG story with a collection of stories from cover to cover.
3. In a world of neglect and harm…we need to patiently help kids navigate childhood to BECOME like Jesus, one holy moment at a time.
We are still processing all that we learned. Our biggest desire is to work together to co-disciple our kids. We definitely want to support you in this area!
Many of you will be on Fall Break this month. We pray that you enjoy some cooler weather and enjoy some time together as a family.
Happy Fall Y’all!
Lynne

Young Adult/HopeSeniors Game Night

Our goal is to grow a community of support and encouragement for all families at Hope Community Church who wish to educate their students at home. All are welcome to participate in the activities regardless of what type of school they attend. Children that are not school age are also welcome.
For more details and information on this group, please contact Bre McCabe at bmambros@gmail.com.

AccessHope exists to ensure that every person may be welcomed and included in the body of Christ; having access to the teaching of God’s Word, participating in collective worship, and engaging in serving one another for the glory of God.
Access Hope wants to remind you that if you need a shorter path to get to the Worship Service, you’re welcome to use the back door to the multipurpose room! Just drive around to the back of the school. You may drop your loved one off or use one of the parking spaces (if there is one available). This is the same entrance our tech team uses to bring the audio/visual equipment in before each service. The ushers will leave the door open until 10:15 a.m. for anyone who needs to use this entrance.
